"Imagine a World Where Every Child Feels Loved and Supported!"

After years of living away from my parents, I often wrestled with feelings of alienation and loneliness, where the physical distance seemed to echo an emotional one as well. Through my journey toward independence, I came to realize that our vulnerabilities and little imperfections are what make us human. They are what makes us compassionate as a society and lead to progress and innovation.

Hugs & Threads was born out of this understanding. Through the handmade bears and bunnies we craft, we reach out to children across the South, sending a tangible reminder that they are not alone and that they are supported and valued. I remember receiving a handmade bunny from my aunt, which has served as a symbol of love and thoughtfulness ever since. Now, I teach our volunteers and the children we serve that each imperfect stitch embodies care, dedication, and the resilience that unites us.

By not only teaching volunteers the skill of sewing but also offering workshops for children who’ve found themselves in difficult circumstances, I hope to encourage everyone involved to embrace their struggles and imperfections as stepping stones toward potential and growth. Together, we aim to weave an empathetic community, where every stitch tells a story of care and the belief in a warmer, more connected world.

Hugs & Threads is dedicated to bringing comfort, love, and a sense of belonging to children in need by creating and delivering handmade teddy bears. We strive to ensure that every child knows they are cherished and never alone.

Together, we strive to bring a brighter and more nurturing future for every child in the world. Each made with love and care, Hugs & Threads bears will deliver support and empower these children to strive for their dreams.

To participating volunteers,

We teach the value of meaningful, hard labor. Our bears might not be as perfect as those mass-produced factory stuffed animals; however, each doll is unique and made with full love and effort from each of our dedicated volunteers. Most of our volunteers are first-time sewers; they struggle through to provide deliver their love and support.

Hugs & Threads believes this meaningful connection between our volunteers and children is what makes our world a more supportive and warmer place!
